| Help Make Kingston a Solar Leader!
The goal of the 1000 Solar Rooftops Challenge is to make Kingston the first community of its size to install 1000 solar energy systems. The program includes a door to door educational initiative and outreach through community events. There is also a featured project section where you can learn more about local solar installations. SWITCH Kingston is a non-profit group and does not sell or install solar energy systems. Latest News The 1000 Solar Rooftops Challenge Team spent Saturday, July 24 at the Kingston Dragon Boat Festival. 
The team chatted with many people about the benefits of a solar energy installation and even got to take part in a few dragon boat races as part of the Toucan Torpedoes team. The 1000 Solar Rooftops Challenge also received its first celebrity endorsement from ship captain and infamous scallywag "Captain" Jack Sparrow.

Door To Door Campaign The 1000 Solar Rooftops Challenge Ambassadors have hit the streets! On Tuesday July 13 Krystal and Haddon (pictured) began a door to door campaign in selected neighbourhoods. These 'Solar Ambassadors' perform a brief rooftop analysis of each home they come to and approach any home that is suitable for a solar installation. If the home owner is not available, a customized brochure outlining the home's solar potential is left in the mailbox.
