Residential Solar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW)

Overview

Solar thermal technology can capture up to 70% of the energy in the sun and transfer much of it into usable low-grade heat for domestic hot water and industrial process heat. (Space heating applications are not usually feasible, but are being actively explored). This has been slow to catch on in Canada only because the cost of our fossil fuels and electricity is so low compared with their cost in Europe and elsewhere.
